We've Got Answers:
What does the letter include?
Your little one will be ditching their tech and living like it’s the 90s, while they learn why the email icon is an envelope. Each month, you’ll receive a letter from our main character, Imaan, detailing an adventure she and her friends have stirred up, a recipe card with an illustration on it, some stickers, and an extra goodie.
What age is this appropriate for?
We’d recommend children between the ages of 4 and 10. We’ve got older kids who enjoy the recipes though. So, it’s up to you to decide if your little one would find this interesting. Adult supervision in the kitchen is highly recommended. Some recipes are more complicated than others.
Why is this the world’s slowest snail mail?
To be clear, this is completely self-proclaimed because that’s just how it feels. With the South African Postal System in business rescue, it takes a little more time than usual for letters to get to you. They’re doing their best and we’re embracing the hiccups. To help us get your second letter to you on time, drop us a mail when your first letter has arrived. With some fancy math on our side, we can adjust our postage dates and work on keeping future letter deliveries on track.
Where do you deliver?
For now: South Africa, Germany and Australia. You can choose your location from the dropdown box shown after you click Checkout, but before you make a payment.
We’re able to deliver anywhere that has a working postal system. So, if you have one and can’t find your country, please drop us an email.
Please note that only Lenny is available outside South Africa.
How much does shipping cost?
Nothing. There’s no additional cost as we’ve worked it into the price already.
I haven’t received my letter yet and I’m in South Africa. What do I do?
Felix’s Subscription: This option comes via Pudo (Courier Guy) and should take 3–5 working days after you’ve received your dispatch email. If it hasn’t arrived after the period, please contact us.
Lenny’s Subscription: This option comes via the South African Postal Service. It can take anywhere from 2–8 weeks to get to you. It’s best to try 1 letter first, then purchase a 3-, 6-or 12-month subscription.
1 month subscription only: If your letter hasn’t arrived 8 weeks after your dispatch email, please get in touch with us. First, we’ll send the missing letter via Pudo. Then, you’ll be able to choose between canceling your subscription or moving over to Pudo.
I haven’t received my letter yet and I’m outside South Africa. What do I do?
Please note that international letters will have an initial lead time of 8 weeks. But keep in touch and we’ll adjust the mail day to get it to you on time after the first 2 months. If 10 weeks have passed since receiving your dispatch email, please get in touch with us.
Note that only Lenny is available outside South Africa.
Can my child write back?
Absolutely, yes. If you’re in South Africa, the letter will get to us eventually.
If you’re overseas, there’s a 99% chance it won’t reach its destination. But that sounds like a fun activity, so please, please, please send us pictures of the letter we probably won’t see.
